Analysis & Reporting
Because companies are under such pressure to streamline business expenses, freight costs are a target for great scrutiny and analysis. But often computer programs have not been built to provide the data that both personnel in finance and logistics desperately need.
Because freight management has been DTA's focus since 1920, we have built such programs that our clients benefit from. The following fields are captured provided information to specific departments that need this accurate data quickly:
For the finance department:
Fields of data to determine how freight expense is allocated - carrier name, invoice number, ship date, paid date, bill of lading or purchase order number, cost of transporting the goods, cost of all additional charges incurred during the shipment (fuel surcharge, wait time, dangerous goods, hazardous materials – to name a few), general ledger allocation cost codes.
For the Transportation and Logistics departments:
The fields listed above and other data to understand shipping patterns and associated costs including – origin and destination, drop ship locations, actual weight, cube weight, customer or supplier name, transfer between locations (and or warehouses) ….. and any other fields that our clients require.
