DTA’s relationship with Freight Companies
Over the years we’ve heard a lot of comments about the services we perform. When it comes around to discussing what the carriers think about DTA, there’s often the comment “Oh, the carriers must hate your company – after all – you’re hired by the shippers to find all their mistakes.” This is false and it is also true.
If the carriers always invoiced accurately in the first place and didn’t duplicate invoice, a service like DTA would not be in business. But they still DO overbill and duplicate bill and as a result, we provide a superb audit service.
Then there is the issue of paying the carriers. There are some companies that hold on to the shipper’s funds and pay the carriers weeks later. This has been and never will be our practice. DTA has an excellent reputation of paying the carriers in a timely manner. When we need answers about an invoice, it is important for our clients to respond to us quickly so that we issue carriers payments quickly.
The carriers appreciate our fast response with quick answers to their questions. They also use the DTA website to get the answers they need. Over 43% of the carriers logged on last year and the number continues to grow.
Finally, DTA has the reputation of being fair with carriers. We do not believe in gouging carriers’ rates just to get a better deal. We do believe in partnerships – the carriers haul the freight, the shipper is pleased with the service, DTA audits and pays the bills and we keep the shipper informed of whether they are getting the best rates available.
Testimonials
"I have been very pleased with the services provided by DTA. The start up process ensured that we are now well organized to track and understand our shipping costs. Instead of hiring extra staff, DTA is performing the entire function in a professional way at half the cost!"
