Control Shipping Document Costs

Gain Control of Shipping Document Costs

Anyone who ships goods and products knows it can generate a lot of paper. Managing and storing those documents is a significant cost for many companies, not to mention being time-consuming, you need to control shipping document costs . In fact, one U.S. study calculated the average cost in time and money to file and store a single document at US$20.

For many of our clients, however, that is one administrative burden they are happily passing on to us. Thanks to our Scan, Shred and Storage service, clients can greatly reduce document management costs, as well as courier, copying and other expenses associated with processing and storing freight invoices and other documents.

With this service, all paper freight invoices and Bills of Lading (BOL) are scanned and uploaded to your secure DTA website portal on a weekly basis. Scanned images are stored for seven years. The paper documents themselves are also destroyed by an accredited document management company once they have been scanned.

One spin-off benefit of this service is one of our newest value-add offerings — POD and Claims Management. Thanks to our comprehensive document scanning and storage service, you need to control shipping document costs and you will also never lose another opportunity to claim for in-transit loss or damage. Included in the Scan, Shred and Storage service, we scrutinize all Proof of Delivery (POD) documents to check for damaged, short or over shipments. A detailed report of findings is then posted each week on your DTA portal page. You also have all the documentation you need to file a claim with your carriers.

As we tell many clients who ship significant amounts outbound, you will control shipping document costs , we can’t guarantee how many claims opportunities we’re going to catch, but we are going to catch them all. If you’re interested in learning more, please speak directly to your Client Manager.
